Hi Chika,

Looks yummy! I love Thai food...did you cook this at home or did you eat out?

Hi Reid,
I love Thai food too :-)
It was at my favorite local Thai restaurant where I had these, but I am hoping if I can try and make the salad myself, too (and maybe ice cream with tapioca in coconut milk).
BTW, are you on Oahu? I have been to one Thai restaurant in Waikiki... can't remember the name of the place, though. Do you know some GOOD Thai restaurants there?

Hi Chika,

Yes, I'm on Oahu near downtown actually. If you're looking for good Thai food in Waikiki, you should either try Singha or Keo's. Both are quite famous and serve decent enough Thai cuisine. I personally like some of the stalls in Chinatown, especially Malee at the Maunakea Marketplace.

Hi Reid,

Thanks for the info :-)
I have been to Keo's but it was for breakfast (those "Hawaiian" breakfast, you know) and didn't have anything Thai. I've never heard of Singha, but I will look up it and take a note for my future visits to Waikiki. Thanks a bunch again!

Hi Chika,

This is my first comment, and I just wanted to say I love your blog. My hometown is Hilo, and I am home for a visit with the parents. This dessert looks really yummy.....I was wondering which thai restaurant is this?

Hi julie,

Sorry about my late reply. The restaurant is called Naung Mai Thai Kitchen, on 86 Kilauea Ave. (808-934-7540). Hope you'll have a chace to eat there!

Hi Chika,

Thanks for your reply. The hubby and I were able to stop by Naung Mai Thai Kitchen yesterday, and we had the yellow curry and garlic shrimp. But the most impressive for me was the dessert, I had lychee ice cream with tapioca....yummy!! I think I will have to go back one more time today before I leave to try the ginger ice cream.

By the way we also tried Pizza Hawaii and had the pesto, sun-dried tomato pizza...very flavorful.

Thank you for your wonderful reviews of Hilo restaurants that I would have never found on my own. :0)
